Privacy Policy

Effective: August 2026

The short version. MiseTable has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. Your recipes, meal plans, grocery lists and nutrition data stay on your device and in your own private iCloud account. We cannot see any of it.

MiseTable ("we," "our," or "the app") is built by Michael Donovan as an independent developer. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and your choices.

Information We Collect

None. MiseTable does not collect or transmit personal information to us, because we operate no servers and the app has no account system. Everything you enter — recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, freezer items and nutrition logs — is stored locally on your device and, where you enable it, synced privately through your own iCloud account.

iCloud & Household Sharing

If you enable Household Sharing, your recipes, meal plans and grocery lists are synced to the people you invite through Apple's CloudKit service, using your personal iCloud account. That data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to it. You can leave or delete a household at any time from Settings.

Importing Recipes from the Web

When you paste a recipe link or share one from Safari, your device requests that page directly from the website you chose, in the same way a browser would. That website's operator can see the request, as they would any visit. The request goes to that site only — never to us, and never to a third-party service.

On-Device Intelligence

Reading recipes from photos, categorizing grocery items and classifying a recipe's cuisine all run on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks. No text, image or recipe content is sent to us or to any third-party AI service, and these features work offline.

Camera & Photo Library

MiseTable uses your camera to scan printed recipe cards and cookbook pages, and your photo library to add photos to recipes and steps. Images are processed and stored on your device. They are never uploaded to us.

Apple Health

If you grant permission, MiseTable writes nutrition data (calories, protein, carbohydrates and fat) to Apple Health when you mark a meal as eaten. MiseTable does not read any data from Apple Health. This data is managed entirely by Apple's HealthKit framework, stays on your device and in your personal Health account, and is not accessible to us. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never shared with third parties, and never sold.

Apple Reminders

If you enable Reminders sync, MiseTable creates and manages grocery lists in your Apple Reminders app. That data stays in your device and iCloud account and is not transmitted to us.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, MiseTable schedules local reminders on your device — for example, when a frozen item is nearing its expiry date. These are generated and delivered locally. We do not operate a push notification server and cannot send you messages.

Subscriptions & Purchases

MiseTable offers an optional subscription ("MiseTable Pro") processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store payment information, and we do not receive your Apple ID. Purchase history is managed by Apple. For billing questions, contact Apple Support.

Analytics & Advertising

MiseTable includes no third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporters or tracking libraries of any kind. We do not collect usage data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Deleting Your Data

Deleting the app removes its local data from your device. If you used Household Sharing, you can remove the shared data from iCloud by deleting the household in Settings before uninstalling. You can also export your whole library from Settings if you want to keep a copy.

Children's Privacy

MiseTable is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
